About Sean

 An author, entrepreneur, motivator, philosopher, and a strong leader, Sean Jones began his professional career in the field of law enforcement. Rising to Executive levels he has been a pivotal organizational leader for multiple large agencies in New York State for over two decades. Having a vigorous reputation as a passionately dedicated and driven strategist with a unique and complex 20+ years of experience in organizational development and strategic problem-solving, Sean has advanced skills in organizational-wide policy implementation and management, outlining operational strategies, and has positively influenced a cumulative workforce of over 10 thousand employees.

Sean has held positions as a high-ranking chief law enforcement executive in New York State for both the City of New York’s Department of Correction as an Assistant Chief and Deputy Chief of Staff, and later as the Undersheriff of Nassau County. Early in his career with the New York City Department of Correction as a Captain he was assigned to the Office of Public Information for over 10 years, where he developed in-depth skills in public and media relations, and crisis management communications.

While serving as an Assistant Chief, Sean was simultaneously responsible for the oversight of multiple correctional facilities inclusive of several Wardens and their management teams, as well as several thousand incarcerated individuals and front-line staff, respectively. He also developed, implemented, managed, and enforced budgetary guidelines, and reviewed and analyzed system-wide operations, incident data trends, and management systems that effectively identified and corrected operational deficiencies. In addition, overseeing investigations of citizen complaints regarding personnel performance, conduct, and incarcerated services specifically affecting the operational fundamentals.

As the Deputy Chief of Staff for the City’s Correction Department, he simultaneously served as an Intergovernmental liaison Instrumental in workforce Union and Labor Relations and contract negotiations. He served as an intermediate between the Commissioner of the agency and the Executive Staff and was largely responsible for coordinating and overseeing various interagency and interdepartmental policies, projects, and initiatives, being overseen by members of the Executive Staff; and advised the Commissioner on all operational issues that affected the agency’s 1.6-billion-dollar budget.

Serving as the Undersheriff of Nassau County and the second highest ranking sworn law enforcement official at the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department, Sean oversaw a comprehensive agency operating budget of over 150+ million dollars, within a system that comprised two divisions; the Correction Division, consisting of Correction Officers, which oversaw the lawful care, custody, and control of County, State, and Federal detainees and prisoners committed to agency custody, and the Enforcement Division, consisting of Deputy Sheriff’s, who are responsible for enforcing orders issued by a New York State judiciary that included the seizure of property, the execution of warrants, tenant evictions, and child support enforcement. In such, both divisions under his purview collectively employed over 900+ full-time and part-time uniformed and non-uniformed staff.
